United have not yet reached an agreement with Bayern, who are reportedly demanding €50 million (£42m/$54m) plus additional bonus payments. It is understood that the two clubs are nearly €15 million (£13m/$16m) apart in their valuations for the defender which has stalled talks at the moment.

De Ligt is not the only key player who will be absent from Bayern's pre-season tour of Asia where they will play against English side Tottenham.
